The Yakan Tribe from Basilan are known to be one of the finest weavers in the county. The art of hand-loom runs deep in the heritage  and culture of the Yakans. The Yakan fabric is produced from pineapple and abaca fibers naturally dyed with herbal extracts to produce rich and vibrant colors.

Inspired by the natural landscape of Lamitan, Yakan fabric features intricate geometric and vividly colored designs. The Yakan’s dedicate the utmost care and craftsmanship in weaving hundreds upon hundreds of singular fibers so much that a single meter of fabric could take a week to finish. The end product is an exquisite textile that is a testament to the Yakan peoples undeniable artistry.
